More instagram pictures of some sketches. Time to get back to the digital stuff.







And a secretish project I'm working on.

I've been house sitting and away from my scanner so I'll just post some of the instagram photos of my sketches (I finally live in the future and have moved on to a smart phone) until I get a chance to get some better images.

 Follow me if you'd like, I think I'll mainly use it for posting doodles and sketches, and reserve this for the tighter/finished stuff I do.  @Seumas_Decontrol

It's been a while. Excuses, excuses... I'll try to be less bad at blogging, and less shy/private about my sketches and studies, no promises, but hopefully this time around I'll be more consistent with my posts.


Anyway image time, I made a mix a while ago out of boredom and did nothing with it. I decided I need more practice with ink/lettering/watercolor so I made it a quick cover.

Meant to post this. Another character sketch "homeless villain" I'll probably revisit this... doesn't seem too evil.

Billy Raygun Coozie: getting back into it.

I did this for a friends band Billy Raygun, it's supposed to get screen printed on a beer coozie.

It's been almost a year since I've picked up brush and ink for this style of work, but it's time to shake off the rust and get back into it!

I'll post a couple new sketches this weekend.

So at long last here is a few pieces from my thesis work based around a sci-fi interpretation of Herman Melville's Moby Dick.

I ended up spending too much time on sketch revisions and concepts that never made it to finals, so it goes. The good news is that I am still super interested in this project and plan on taking another stab at in the very near future as a side project, and I'll make sure they turn out to a quality I'm happy with next time around. 

More good news: I finally am living with an internet connection (hence the lack of posts recently), and recently have purchased a band spankin' new scanner (another excuse for the lack of posts). So the plan is to update once or twice a week with new projects and sketches!

Also, I know Ahab's prosthetic leg switches, can't believe I missed that... annnnnd Futurama did it too. I should have posted these earlier. YOU WIN THIS ONE MATT GROENING!
